“A Lucky Beggar” is a 1918 Cosmopolitan Magazine color print, illustrated by Harrison Fisher, one of the most famous American illustrators of the early 1900s.
The art style is classic Fisher: elegant women, soft watercolor-like shading, fashionable hats, and gentle emotional scenes.
His signature often appears as a quick, almost calligraphic scribble — that matches what’s visible on your piece.
Cosmopolitan Magazine in the 1910s regularly featured his illustrations on covers and inside-color plates.
This is not an original watercolor, but an original 1918 printed color plate taken from an actual issue of Cosmopolitan.
It is over 106 years old, and collectors of early magazine art, Fisher lovers, and vintage dog-themed art absolutely buy these.
